Over the course of the year, the Governor's Residence at the Boettcher Mansion hosts a large number of events for a diverse range of audience from throughout the State of Colorado and beyond. Walter Scott Cheesman began the construction of the Cheesman residence (later
called Cheesman-Evans-Boettcher mansion & Governor's
mansion); he died in 1907, his widow Alice & daughter
Gladys completed the construction in 1908. The building has Colonial
Revival architecture with formal portico topped with balustraded balcony,
two-story Ionic columns, dentiled eaves, gabled dormers & tall chimneys,
partial view of formal gardens designed by George Kessler; original architectural
design begun by Gove & Walsh.
